Whipped Cream Frosting Recipe!
As we are on a roll with National Food Days, today is National Whipped Cream Day. What better way to celebrate it than with a Whipped Cream Frosting Recipe.
I have been making this frosting recipe for most of my life. I am not a fan of butter cream frosting, it’s way too sweet. I do like the whipped cream frosting that you can get on cakes from the supermarkets but why not just make your own. I always think that everyone knows how to make this, but I never see it posted anywhere.
So, since I was making some cupcakes, I figured I would write up a short post, take a few pictures and share my frosting recipe with the world. A couple of things, you don’t have to make it the Weight Watchers way. You can make it with regular instead of sugar free, but that’s totally up to you.
Did I mention that it’s only 2 ingredients? Yep, a container of heavy cream and box of sugar free instant pudding (or regular pudding if you prefer). Yep, that’s it! It doesn’t get any easier than this!
I don’t like it too sweet so I used a 16 oz. container of heavy cream, any brand will do. I shop at Aldi so that’s what I used. One box of your choice of flavor of sugar free pudding (I used vanilla). Dump both items in a bow, I use a cold metal bowl, I find it works better when the bowl is cold. Beat with a mixer until stiff peaks form. Frost your cake as usual.
If you want to change the color, just add some food coloring. I made orange for a party. If you want to change the flavor, (I made pina colada cupcakes…shhh coming soon) just add some extract of your choice.
I never claimed to be a professional decorator. They may not look real pretty…but they taste awesome!

Does this frosting need to be refrigerated?
Jill
Hi Mary – yes, it should be refrigerated. So if you make the frosting and are not eating the cupcakes the same day, you should refrigerate it. It can be stored for 2-3 days. If you are putting it on cake or cupcakes and are not eating them the same day, then you should refrigerate them as well!

This tastes delicious but I get a whole lot of points when creating this recipe in the WW app. What is your serving size here that you get so little points? I get 6 points and that’s with 12 servings!
Jill
Hi Maya, the calculations when I did them were per tablespoon – so 1 WW point PER tablespoon. Jill
