Hello dear ghouls and goblins, are you in search of a truly morbid and creepy drink to delight and spook your friends? Looking for something to spice up your next All Hallows Eve party or maybe just want to amp up your bartending skills?
Look no further; the delightfully grim and grisly Alien Brain Hemorrhage shot is the perfect mix of delicious and artfully terrifying. If you are truly in search of a drink to not only wow your friends but also creep them out a bit then this shot should seal the deal!
So polish off those bartending skills and prepare to shock and awe your friends as you mix these shots! It’s horrifying appearance is definitely part of the appeal but sip beneath the macabre surface and you’ll find a super smooth, monstrously delicious cocktail that will assuredly surprise and amuse you.
This shot is incredibly simple to prepare but will your friends don’t need to know that. With just four simple ingredients the effect is out of this world.
All you need is Baileys Irish Cream, Blue Curaçao, grenadine, peach schnapps and a glass; this shot promises a small amount of effort on your part with a large return!
The Alien Brain Hemorrhage shot looks like something you’d find in hidden at Area 51 or a long forgotten dusty cabinet in a witches lair. The slightly nauseating yet wonderful look of the alien brain hemorrhage shot is definitely the appeal and it tastes amazing!

Ingredient’s required….
- Bailey’s Irish cream– this classic cream liqueur brings a smoothness to the taste and freakiness to the look.
- Peach schnapps– This brings a nice fruity pop to the shot. Any peach schnapps brand will go well with the Alien Brain Hemorrhage.
- Blue curacao– Blue Curacao brings great flavor and adds a formaldehyde-like blue coloring effect to the shot.
- Grenadine syrup– Bless grenadine and all it’s wonderfulness! Grenadine is a pomegranate and cherry syrup that brings the sweetness and the all-important bloody effect to the shot.
- Shot glass– I found some lovely shot glasses at TJ Maxx for $4.00 for a dozen. You want something smaller than a tumbler glass but big enough to show off the full creepy effect of the Alien Brain Hemorrhage shot.

HOW TO MAKE AN ALIEN BRAIN HEMORRHAGE SHOT
Assembling this terrifyingly tasty shot is decidedly quick and simple and requires no measuring. Layered shots can sometimes be complicated, but not the Alien Brain Hemorrhage!
The key is to add each ingredient slowly. This is what allows the grisly appearance of “the brain” part of the shot.
The Alien Brain Hemorrhage can be made with warm ingredients but I’ve found it’s much tastier when the Peach Schnapps and Baileys Irish Cream are chilled in advance. This will allow both ingredients to float to the top of the glass, making them look like they are suspended in formaldehyde for that all-important “just harvested” brain appearance.
- First pour in peach schnapps until the glass is a little over half full. This clear layer is the ‘formaldehyde” that acts as the backdrop to the rest of the shot drink.
- Slowly pour or use a dropper to add the Blue Curacao.
- Then slowly add a couple of drops of grenadine for that eerie blood effect.
- Then comes the Bailey’s. Give the Baileys bottle a good shake then slowly pour it over the back of spoon into the shot. Add as much as you like to achieve the desired “brain” effect. This is what gives the Alien Brain Hemorrhage shot its ghostly appearance.
For added effect, it’s fun to set up a “lab” tableau to really set the scene and ensure that your guests are properly freaked out. I like to hit Goodwill and find old tarnished silverware, pitchers and serving bowls to present my ingredients in. Pick up some medicine droppers, syringes or both from your local drugstore and have fun with it. The staging ideas are endless and that’s part of the fun with this shot!
If you would like to turn the Alien Brain Hemorrhage shot into an Alien Brain Hemorrhage cocktail then just double or triple the ingredients.
WHAT DOES AN ALIEN BRAIN HEMORRHAGE TASTE LIKE?
Despite its gruesome appearance this shot is really smooth and rich with a fruity aftertaste from the peach schnapps, Blue Curacao and grenadine.
Besides the grenadine this shot is pure alcohol and is strong so be warned!
