Funfetti cake mix is a great base for this recipe because of the fun colors that are within the cake mix. This recipe is perfect for celebrating and it’s something you can easily wrap up in small sucker bags and give to your friends or coworkers.
Another great way to use these is to create a “bouquet” of pops as a gift for a co-worker or friend. Use different colors and shaped sprinkles or cake accents to give it a more floral inspired look.
Ingredients
- 1 box of Funfetti cake mix
- 3 Eggs
- 1/2 cup Oil
- 1 cup Water
- 1 container of vanilla frosting
- 1 bag of Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers or Chocolate melting wafers
- Confetti sprinkles
- Cake pop sticks
- Cupcake pan
- Cupcake liners
Cake Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Make the cake batter according to the box.
3. Scoop batter into the cupcake liners in a cupcake pan.
4. Bake the cupcakes at 350 degrees for 21 minutes.
5. Remove from the cupcakes and let cool.
6. Remove liners and crumb the cake into a medium bowl.
7. Add 1/2 Tbsp. frosting to the crumbled cake.
8. Combine until dough like.
9. Take a small size of the dough and form into a ball.
10. Continue until all cake mix is formed into balls.
11. Place onto a plate and place into the freezer for 30 minutes until solid.
Chocolate Instructions
1. Using a double boiler, melt the white chocolate.
2. Pull out the cake balls and set onto the counter next to the melted chocolate.
3. Take cake pop stick and dip one end into the chocolate, push the cake pop stick end with the melted chocolate into cake ball.
4. We like to use a floral foam to place our cake pops in as they harden.
5. Place back into the freezer until chocolate is hard.
6. Pull cake balls back out and dip into the melted chocolate.
7. Lightly tap the stick onto the edge of the pot with the melted chocolate so that the extra chocolate falls off.
8. Push bottom of stick into the floral foam block to hold the stick.
9. Sprinkle some confetti sprinkles on top of the cake pop.
10. Repeat with remaining cake balls.
11. Once the chocolate is hardened, slowly pull out the sticks for cake balls or leave in for cake pops.
