Today we are going to talk about Skinnygirl California Rosé Wine.
I like all kinds of wine but a good glass of Rosé is probably my favorite. I am no wine connoisseur, but I definitely know what I like and what I do not.
SkinnyGirl if you are not aware is a line of cocktails created by Bethany Frankel from the Housewives series. I have never watched that show – but when the chance came to try the wine I wanted to jump on it since it is a low calorie wine. Since I am on a Weight Watchers plan to try and lose weight I thought it would be great to find a wine I could enjoy that did not pack on the calories.
Skinnygirl California Rose
The first thing I looked at was the calories!
Skinnygirl is 100 calories per 5 ounce serving.
I am not a serious wine drinker, but I do not think this is a huge difference from a traditional glass of Rose. I think I found that another brand of Rose wine I have is about 130 calories per glass.
But if you are going to have more than 1 glass – the savings in calories does add up!
I tried the Rosé Wine on Valentine’s Day for our Anniversary. A day of celebration. I like how smooth it felt going down. No bitter aftertaste.
Skinnygirl Cocktails seem to have a pretty strong following and most customers seem to love the flavors – like I did.
The California Rosé Wine is a mild Rosé with a complex aroma of cherry, watermelon and ripe citrus fruit.
It is a very smooth wine and does not have that overly sweet or sugary taste that I typically do not find appealing. It has very light and refreshing flavor which makes it a perfect fit for a lazy summer afternoon.
Skinnygirl is available in most major liquor stores and is very affordable compared to some of their competitors.
