Leggings Like Lularoe For Under $20!

OK, I will admit I have NEVER purchased a pair of Lularoe leggings – as a matter of fact I have never purchased any Lularoe products. Not because I did not love the feel of their clothes – but the prints and colors were a bit bold for my liking. I am not into super bright colors and patterns so they were just not right for me.

I actually thought they were charging too much for a pair of leggings anyway, but then again I am here writing this blog because I am a notorious cheapskate.

So my search was on for finding leggings like Lularoe but cheaper!

So the question was – where the heck can I find even find leggings like Lularoe? I have to admit I did kind of love the soft buttery feel when I saw them at various events I went to. I had lots of leggings in my closet, but none had that softness!

Well, let me tell you it was not easy to find anything similar!

I tried Kohl’s – everything felt scratchy and cheap.

I tried Target – and actually bought 1 pair that ripped as soon as I put them on. They were not quite as soft as the Lularoe brand, but they were close enough to try them.

I tried TJMaxx – nada, nilch.

When I got frustrated – I went to my least favorite place in the world.

The mall – I hate the mall.

I tried Macy’s – holy crow they were expensive.

I tried JCPenney’s – they had a great selection, but nothing with that soft feel I was looking for.

I found nothing that even resembled soft and buttery in any of the stores I tried.

So to the internet I went.

That is where I met the first pair of leggings similar to Lularoe that I fell in love with and has been my go to ever since. I got lucky in that the first pair I got from VIV collection leggings was the absolutely perfect Lularoe alternative!

VIV Collection Leggings

I purchased my first pair of VIV Collection leggings back in 2017 – below is a screenshot from my Amazon account – just want you to know that I have been a customer of theirs for years.

I bought 2 pairs back then and I still one of them!

One pair was black and white so I was able to wear those all year round – and wear them I did – a lot.

The second pair was more fall colored so I put those away in the summer and only wore those in the fall months which is why I still (in 2019) have those!

VIV leggings are 92% polyester and 8% spandex and I could never imagine that these 2 materials could make leggings as soft as they are.

The are seriously as close to Lularoe leggings as you can get and they are under $20. They have a traditional waist band that comes up to your belly button in most cases and I cannot begin to tell you how comfy they are.

Below are the pair I bought in 2017 that I STILL wear! I would guess I have worn these no less than 50 times in the last 2 years and while they are starting to fade a bit, the leggings are still in great shape with no pulls, tears or seam breaks. I still wear them out and about and still get compliments on them.

They are not at all opaque so I can feel comfortable that no one is seeing through my pants like with some legging brands.

The other pair I had ordered in 2017 did pull at the seam in the crotch, but it was after a LOT of wearings but I did get a full year and a half out of those. For a $12.99 pair of leggings (which is what I paid) – I more than got my moneys worth!

Below are my latest VIV leggings purchase – a multicolored paisley print and some subtle skull leggings for those crazy weekends out.

Who am I kidding – I am 50 there are no crazy weekends out! 🙂

For the record I am 160 pounds with a little extra in the belly and am 5’7″ tall and the one size fits all fits me perfectly with a little but of room to spare.

Leggings Depot

Leggings Depot leggings are another brand that are very close to the Lularoe brand and has amazing reviews as well. They are also 92% polyester with 8% spandex and have that soft buttery feel that you want in a legging.

These leggings are normal waist style (not yoga with the wider band) – and they are available in regular and plus size.

This brand seems to be incredibly popular with the plus size crowd because the large amount of print options and sizes – with all the designs we saw, we wish you luck making that difficult choice!

The only complaints we really saw was that petite women found them to be too big in most cases, so if you are petite they may not have the fit you are hoping for.

I particularly love this elephant print! Beautiful design and color and of course my love for animals make these a pair I may really need to try!

Dream Leggings

Dream Leggings is a store that sells a large collection of leggings and jeggings and from what we have heard their leggings are very Lularoe like having that super soft feel. The leggings that we looked at that have the Lualroe feel are the same 92% polyester with 8% spandex combination just like the others above.

This shop looks like it is truly a small business, which we love to support and from what I could tell the service seems to be exceptional – so they get bonus points for that!

They offer lots of specials and deals to get your leggings even cheaper than their already cheap price and they run giveaways as well.

Plush which is recommended for those who wear 12-18 and like a looser fit
Pluxe is available in limited styles and fit sizes 18-26

They have printed and solid style and we are kind of digging what we are reading about them online! They also have a great collection of tunics that go perfectly with the leggings! That has been one challenge I have had was to find great tunics – so I will be ordering from DreamLeggings to see what the experience is like for myself!

Conceited Premium Leggings

Lots of customers have noted that these feel like Lularoe – and since they have the same fabric of 92% polyester and 8% spandex, we would guess they do have that same feel!

With over 2,500 ratings with a 4 star rating, you can be pretty confident you are getting a pretty great pair of leggings!

Malvina goes by the brand LMB or Lush Moda on Amazon, but they also have their own store here.

While they do not have as big a following on Amazon as some of the other brands above their materials are the same with the 92% polyester and 8% spandex mix which gives them the soft feel.

There are over 900 reviews giving them a 4.5 star rating so they are clearly doing something right! With a great collection of prints and solids there is something for everyone.

Pricing on their website shows some leggings for just $10 a pair!

Workmanship Issues

Please note that all of the vendors above have really great reviews and overall happiness with their customers, but just like with everything in life – you may occasionally get a pair that are less than perfect! Even when you pay a lot of money for leggings a few lower quality ones my slip through the cracks.

When we did our research we find very few issues with any of the brands above – so give them a try! If you do happen to get a pair that seems to have issues with holes or seams make sure you let the manufacturer know!

Washing Lularoe Type Leggings

Because of the materials used to create the softness that you are probably looking for – you will need to use a little extra care to get the most out of you Lularoe style leggings.

I have had one of my pair of the VIV collection leggings for just about 2 years – I have always washed them in cold water in gentle cycle then tumbled dry on low heat and they still look amazing.

Most of the vendors above do recommend washing in cold/gentle to get the most out of your leggings and most do recommend you hang dry.

When you shop on Amazon there are sometimes knock-offs – even of the cheaper items so you have to be sure that what you are getting are the brands noted above!

Make sure when your leggings arrive that they have the tag from the brand you wanted to buy. Also make sure you are seeing “Sold by” whatever the brand is you want on the item you are looking at in Amazon.
