We love pasta in our house and we aren’t even Italian. When I received a box of pasta from The Pasta Shoppe, I couldn’t believe the variety that was in there. Different shapes of pasta, some with different sauces, Divine Meringues (to die for) and Spinach-Basil-Garlic Angel Hair pasta.
It was a nice variety with fun shapes. Shapes for Halloween, College Football, Wintertime Chili, and more. I think it’s a great way to get kids to eat their food. They also have a great Fundraising program for any group looking to raise money.
The Pasta Shoppe: What it is
John and Carey Aron started thinking about pasta on their honeymoon in Italy. They made a trip back a few years later so they could find out what it took to make the highest quality and best tasting pasta. They were so intent on making their pasta the best that their machinery even comes from Italy and use only the finest ingredients. They have pasta in over 250 different shapes.
The Pasta Shoppe: The Taste
When you cook the pasta, you can tell the difference from normal everyday pasta that we are used to using. I have to admit, I have always had trouble when cooking pasta. Usually it comes out all soft and falling apart. The pasta from the Pasta Shoppe always came out perfect….al dente, each and every time.
The Pasta Shoppe: The Shapes
We had a variety of fun shapes to choose from.
The Halloween Pasta: Always fun for your little goblins to have a nice comfort dinner before they go out trick or treating. Filled with fun shapes of ghosts, goblins, pumpkins and spiders. We mixed it with some spaghetti sauce, side salad and bread and butter. Great for those Halloween parties too.
The Zoo Animals pasta: Little kids love the zoo and the animals. Filled with monkeys, bears and elephants. Can be mixed with just about anything you choose. Kids will definitely be playing with their food trying to find all the animals.
g>: Down on the Farm with the pigs, roosters and cows. Comes complete with the cheese, just add milk and butter and you’re all set.
Wintertime Chili: Great for the cold weather that is starting to trickle in. Who doesn’t love chili to warm up, especially with snowman and snowflakes. Comes complete with the mild-medium chili spice mix packet.
Divine Meringues: I saved the best for last! Since I am always watching my weight, these came in handy, but went down a little too smooth. But with only 7 calories each….who’s counting. They melt in your mouth and I wasn’t the only one who liked them. These are really great to have on hand for that snack attack. We had the Vanilla Bean Meringues, but they also come in Chocolate Cocoa Crunch and Peppermint for the holidays.
The Pasta Shoppe: Overall
I was very impressed the products I received from The Pasta Shoppe. The texture, the quality, the taste, and the all the different shapes available, over 250! So, whatever you are looking for, they are sure to have it. I’m all for getting kids to eat, even if it means playing with their food, searching for the shapes.
I still have a few of the pasta salads with vinaigrette dressing that I need to try, and the Spinach Basil Garlic Angel Hair, but I was waiting for the big game day for those.
The Pasta Shoppe: Where to buy
The pasta is available at PastaShoppe.com starting at $5.50. Find out more about their Fundraising program, which is great for any group looking to raise some money. Connect with them on Facebook and Twitter.
