Have you ever heard of Melissa and Doug? Well, to tell you the truth, and I am not proud to say this, I didn’t until I started looking for good quality products for my grandchildren. Melissa and Doug started out 23 years ago in a garage and they have come a long way since then. Melissa and Doug strive to keep their customers happy with value, quality and designs. I like to think of them as a mom and pop shop where everyone including the customers are like family.
I was recently given the opportunity to review a Melissa and Doug Deluxe Kitchen. Now some people have different opinions about letting boys play with kitchens and stuff like that. When my kids were little, I bought a stove and refrigerator for my son and everyone criticized me for doing it and now he loves to cook. He took Culinary classes while in high school and has worked in restaurants all his life. He is a baker and sells his products locally and is a big hit. So I figured to keep it in the family and get the boys a kitchen. Cody already loves helping daddy make stuff, and has been asking for a kitchen for awhile. I recently got him his very own apron with his name embroidered on it and he loves it.
Oh, boy the boxes are here! I can’t wait to open them.
< We also received with the Deluxe Kitchen a Chef Role Play Costume Set so he can be just like daddy. It’s made for ages 3-6, is machine washable and comes complete with a set of measuring spoons, two wooden utensils, an oven mitt and a name tag for personalizing. The Chef Coat can be purchased for $29.99. Here we have Chef Cody ready to make your order. You are probably thinking it looks too small on him but he is exceptionally big for his age (6). Dad is 6’8 and I think he is going to take after him.
The Deluxe Kitchen is made for children 3 and above and is made of durable wood. It is a little chef’s dream kitchen, with room to prepare, cook, clean, and create. This sturdy kitchen includes a stove, refrigerator/freezer, oven, microwave with turntable, and sink. Bright, colorful graphics, an exceptional price, and easy assembly make this an appealing play kitchen for the home or classroom!
Here we are putting it together.
Currently I have two grand sons in the house and one on the way. This kitchen is sure to last a long time. Wood products are always much better than the cheap plastic products that are out on the market these days. You can always tell quality products by the materials they are made with and this is definitely on the top of the list.
