Gulf Coast Destin

Snorkel will walk you

through it!

Last weekend I had the opportunity to spend 4 days in Destin with 23 other bloggers on Brandcation Gulf Coast.  I have to say that I had the time of my life.  It has been a really long time, actually I have never been away without my husband.  Were you ever afraid to try something?  We were given the chance to Snorkel or Snuba, thanks to Destin Snorkel and I would probably have never tried either because for me it is out of the box.

Seeing that I have never been snorkeling, I didn’t have a clue as what to do or how to do it.  It was an overcast day on the Gulf Coast with a light rain, but we went anyway because hey, we were going to get wet anyway.  Thank goodness for the crew of Destin Snorkel.  We started out by getting our wet suits and flippers.  I got into my wetsuit and wasn’t too hard.  One thing I didn’t know was make sure you take out your earrings and nose ring before you go.

Of course, there were some girls, specifically Jen from Life with Levi,  that put their wetsuits on backwards.

On the boat, on the way out to the island, the crew explained everything to us and gave us our snorkeling gear.

On the way, we were enjoying the sites and even saw some awesome dolphins.

Once we arrived at the our destination, we got ready to head into the water.  Some of us were going snorkeling and some were going to do Snuba.  No that is not a typo.  Snuba is a cross between snorkeling and scuba diving.  You go down about 20 ft. and your air tank is attached to little floating boat.  I wasn’t daring enough to try that.

It was nice of Gregg to come in and snap photos of us on the boat and under water.  We had an amazing time and we even saw some beautiful fish.

There was one girl, Denise from Shopper Strategy, who was attached to a crab that Jen wanted to kiss.

I received my snorkeling certificate and can’t wait to try it again.

  1. Oh my goodness – that looks like so much fun! My dad has always wanted to take SCUBA lessons, but that certainly looks like it beats learning in a pool at the Y!
