Going on vacation is one of those things that we absolutely all love to do. Whether you get to go once a year, twice or several times, that feeling of excitement as you count the days never really goes away. However, getting ready for the vacation can be a different story entirely. There always seems to be such a mad rush to get things sorted, am I right? Getting yourself ready, getting other people ready, packing, prep, sorting the house out, it can be an endless battle. I thought I would share with you some of the top tips to help you get vacation ready.
Thinking about your hair before and while you are away
One of the first things you need to do is consider your hair before you go and while you are away. Everyone wants to look and feel their best and having your hair done a few days before you are due to travel will ensure that your style and veen the hair color you choose is right for you big vacation. What you take with you is also important, especially if you do have colored hair, so make sure you pack a shampoo for colored hair to ensure that you keep the color looking vibrant. Of course, if you are travelling anywhere hot then you may find that your hair can get quite dry in the heat, so you might also want to consider nourishing conditioner as well. Don’t forget to pack some hair accessories. Hair bands and grips to keep your hair up during the day, and any styling products you use like curling tongs or hair straighteners for the evening. It may sound like you are packing a lot, but it is always best to have the things you regularly use while you are away as well.
Packing the essentials in terms of makeup
You also need to consider makeup when you are away. Many women don’t like to use much of it while they are on holiday and I don’t blame them. After all, you may get a sunkissed glow from being in the sun which in turn can make you look healthy and have that vacation glow. However, while you may not want to wear a full face of makeup it may be worth taking with you a few essentials so that you can feel your best while away. It may be some simple items like a bronzer and a mascara. Or you may want to add an eyeshadow palette and an eyeliner just for a little wow factor. Packing up your makeup doesn’t have to be hard. Just try and think about what you might want to look like while you are away and try and not go overboard as you don’t want to take up any unnecessary space in your case.
Ensuring you take care of your skin
Going on vacation means that the chances are you are heading somewhere warm and sunny. It does tend to be the obvious choice for many. However, we can often forget to take good care of our skin while we are away. The sun can produce harmful UV rays and if you are not protected it can then burn your skin and in the future cause all kinds of health problems. So you do need to ensure that you pack and wear sunscreen of a high factor to protect yourself. Not only that, but we also need to think of our skincare routine while we are away and also make sure that we do moisturise our face and our bodys in the morning and at night to ensure that you keep your skin hydrated and fresh.
Could you plan your outfits for easy packing?
You might want to take some time to plan your outfits as you are packing your suitcase. With strict limits on weights these days it is a great way to ensure that you don’t verpack and face any hefty costs at the airport. Taking the time to consider what works well together, what you might want to wear and when, and also trying to mix and match combinations saves on time, save on case weight, and also helps you to maximise the time you have away as you will have already planned what you are going to wear. This is when a capsule wardrobe can work really well.
Taking comfortable shoes
Vacations can often sometimes mean a bit of activity. It may not necessarily be obvious, but there could be a bit of walk to a beach, to a shop or a restaurant where you want to eat. So packing at least one pair of comfortable shoes that you know are versatile for a day or night outfit could be one of the best things you do. Enabling you to still look fabulous without any sore feet to contend with. Again it might be worth factoring in what shoes to wear when you are planning your outfits to pack.
Getting your hands and feet summer ready
Everyone likes to feel prepared for their vacations, and one treat that many women indulge in is getting their hands and feet ready for summer. That may mean booking yourself in for a manicure and a pedicure and choosing your favourite nail colour, or having your own version done at home where you paint your nails and get yourself ready.
Is there anything you can do to save time?
Finally, there may be things you can do ahead of time or while you are away that could save you time in the lead up to your vacation. We have only just mentioned having nails and feet done before departing, but if you are short on time you could pack the varnish and emery boards and do it while you are away. Other ways to save time include packing ahead of time and not at the last minute, and also taking the time to consider what goes into your hand luggage. Lastly, make sure youa have all necessary chargers for the tech you want to use while you are away. We all know those pesky batteries don’t last for long.
I hope that this helps you get vacation ready.
