Eden Corn Festival Western New York
We always try to time our vacation to Western New York when there are a lot of things going on. This year, we were able to visit while the Eden Corn Festival and the Erie County Fair was going on.
The Eden Corn Festival is just like a fair, but it’s always the first weekend in August, rightfully called the corn festival, because the corn is at it’s peak. And it’s sooooooo good!
It’s called bread and butter corn or salt and pepper corn. It’s the white and yellow kernels and it just melts in your mouth. You don’t need butter or salt on it…..well, because it’s that good!
We just happened to be coming into town while it was going on, so we stopped on our way in. It’s free, but you have to pay for the corn and whatever else you want to eat. Well worth it in my book.
Since I moved to Florida, I haven’t been able to find corn like that. We have had good corn at Scott Long Farms, that you don’t even have to boil to eat. That is the only corn so far that matches up to the corn at the Eden Corn Festival.
We ate some corn and walked around for a bit. We checked out the craft show, which I love and miss, but didn’t buy anything, because we didn’t have any room in the car, lol. But, they had a lot of nice stuff.
It was fun and I miss going to it every year. But as long as I get to go every couple years, I’m good. All in all, we had a great time and hope to be able to do it again in the next couple years. Have you been to Western New York? What places have visited?
