Does the Weight Watchers Simple Start Plan Really Work?
Who is anxious to lose some weight this year? Me, me, and me! Let’s try out the Weight Watchers Simple Start plan to find it if it really works.
I started Weight Watchers 30 years ago, right after my second son was born. I went with my sister and we both did great. I only had 45 lbs to lose then and lost it in no time. That was when I became a lifetime member!
Over the past 30 years, I have gained a couple times….quite a few times actually, sometimes because of my medication and other times…because I love my sweets. That is my weakness. Cookies, donuts, pastries, you get the idea.
With that being said, I have been on every Weight Watchers plan that they have come out with. 3 years ago, I had lost 80 lbs. Unfortunately, I have put it back on, slowly over the course of the last 3 years. This past year was probably when I put the majority on. We were on the road traveling for 4 months. I know the foods that I am supposed to eat, but sometimes it’s hard. Needless to say, we ate a lot fast food. Still not sure why my husband gain weight like I do, we were eating the same stuff.
I figured since it was a new year, I always like to think it’s a fresh start. I went back to Weight Watchers to try their new Simple Start plan. After looking it over, I really don’t see too much of a difference from the power foods plan that they already had in place. I always counted my points and never really paid attention to it.
They suggest staying on the Simple Start plan for the first 2 weeks. So I figured…why not? What have I got to lose…except weight! I started on Jan. 1st and I get weighed in on Thursdays, which is tomorrow. You are also allowed 7 PP per day for any extras you might need. I used it for a slice of Weight Watchers Cheese, FF sour cream, Fudge Bars, Weight Watchers Ice Cream bars (because I need my sweets) and more.
Some of the foods I ate this week were:
- Rotisserie Chicken.
- Fat Free Cheeses
- Salad (lettuce, tomato, cukes, FF Cheese, Garbanzo Beans, hard boiled eggs, FF dressing).
- Light English Muffins.
- Spaghetti (whole wheat w/sauce – 95% ground beef, onions, peppers, italian seasoning, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes).
- Baked Potato w/broccoli or cauliflower, FF cheese, FF sour cream (1PP).
- Fresh Fruits and Vegetables.
- Progresso Light Soup.
So you see, you are able to have a variety of food. I try to rotate the food so I am not eating the same thing day after day. There really are endless possibilities.
But that question that everybody wants to know the answer to: Does the Weight Watchers Simple Start plan really work? My goal is to fit into this black dress that I wore for my son’s wedding 3 years ago.
Well….come back tomorrow to find out after I get weighed in! See you then.
Have you started on a weight loss plan this year?
