Van’s Natural Foods
If you have read some of my posts about my health, then you know that I have Crohn’s Disease for over 20 years now. My Dr. has suggested that I go Gluten Free to give it a try and see if it helps. It’s hard finding products that are gluten free and it takes a lot of research. But, one of those products is Van’s Natural Foods. A lot of their products are gluten free but some are not. I have tried some other gluten free products and they just plain and simple taste like cardboard. So, I am always afraid to try something new.
Luckily, I was able to contact Van’s Natural Foods and ask if I would be able to review some of their products. I have seen their waffles and pancakes in the freezer section, but I didn’t realize that they had so many other products available. Things like Snack Bars, Crackers and Cereals. I was looking for the French Toast Sticks but my supermarket didn’t have it so I went to the store locater to find them. The closest store to me is Whole Foods and it’s a little bit of ride. But the next time I’m heading that way, I will pick them up.

Van’s Natural Food: The importance of breakfast
I’m sure you have heard many times over that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. That’s one thing that I have learned at Weight Watchers. You need to take in food in order to fuel your body. Energy in…Energy out! I never used to eat breakfast and I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t losing weight. Because I wasn’t fueling my body for the day.
Breakfast also helps kids to learn better at school. I know it helps them to think better so breakfast is the one meal I do try to make sure I do right every morning!
Everyone is in such a hurry these days and practically runs out the door in the mornings. It takes less than 5 minutes to pop a waffle in the toaster or a pancake in the microwave. You can do it while you are getting dressed. Or even take a second to grab a Snack Bar or French Toast Stick. Something, anything, just to fuel your body.
According to a recent article on Yahoo! Health, skipping breakfast can lead to weight gain, high blood pressure and metabolic syndrome, and women who skip even once a week are 20 percent more likely to develop type 2 diabetes.
As I said before, I never used to eat breakfast. I have high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes! The next time you think about skipping breakfast….think of me!
Van’s Natural Foods: Overall
I thought that Van’s Natural Foods pancakes and waffles tasted just like any other brand. I am really excited to try out all their other products that I didn’t realize they had. I feel confident in trying them now, knowing that they taste good. The best part is that my husband likes them too. I hate it when I have to buy separate food for me and him. It can be annoying.
