DIY Valentine’s Day Deco Mesh Wreath Tutorial

DIY Valentine’s Day Deco Mesh Wreath Tutorial

Let me start off by saying that I am NOT a very crafty person. Whenever I have tried to do a craft before, it either didn’t come out the way it was supposed to or I gave up because I just couldn’t do it.

The first time I saw one of the deco mesh wreaths was when we went to Walter’s Pumpkin Patch. They had a little store, I thought it was the cutest thing. I also thought to myself “wow, that’s a lot of money”! So, I took some pictures of it so I would remember it and hopefully come across one again and maybe I could figure out how it was made.

So, around Christmas time, I had seen a few of the burlap wreaths floating around on some blogs. I read the posts about how it how made and even gave it a shot. However, mine looked nothing like it and I got very frustrated….so I took everything back to the store. I vowed I would never try another craft again.

That is until I saw a couple tutorials on it. These wreaths were done totally different than the one I had tried to do. Even though it was similar, this one looked a lot easier. After watching a few different videos, I came to find out that there were different ways and I had tried the harder version. Hobby Lobby, here I come!

I am going to show you just how easy it is to make a Valentine’s Day Deco Mesh Wreath and if I can do it…..anybody can!

I am going to show you just how easy it is to make a Valentine's Day Deco Mesh Wreath and if I can do it, anybody can! Once you try it, you won't stop!

Lets take it from the top:

These are supplies for 2 wreaths!

I bought supplies for 2 wreaths along with extras because I wasn’t sure what I was going to use. They had some good sales at Hobby Lobby and I got most of the items for a steal!

First color done!

You can rotate top to bottom or do the outside first or the inside first. Whatever way you like. I rotated top to bottom at first but didn’t like the way it looked. I took it apart and started over. I did the bottom first then then the top. I also found out that if I had too much space between bunchings, you couldn’t tell it was a heart shape.

Twist tinsel together!

Add second color randomly. There is no wrong or right way to do it. Add as much or as little as you want.

Add whatever extras that you like!

Add sparkle!

I was able to stick the tinsel right through the heart to attach it. You can also hot glue on any extras that you want.
