The Best Childrens’
Fashion of The Season
As many of you know, we are celebrating my granddaughter’s first birthday and my grandson’s 7th birthday on the 4th of July. We also have a new granddaughter. I love buying clothes for them and dress them up in the all the cute things that are out.
Children’s fashions change just like our do, from cute summer dresses through to tiny, tailored suits, there is something for every child. This year’s children’s collections by some of the largest design houses have brought forward some interesting ideas. From pastel miniature prom dresses for girls and neon waistcoats for little gentlemen. Just like with the adult versions, these have filtered their way down to the highstreet for all of us to enjoy. Shopping for children’s clothes can also be expensive, especially as they grow at such a rate. There are many stores known for buy now and pay later deals, so why not use these to get all your summer outfits today. So, here are the best children’s trends for 2013.
Little ladies love neon
Neon has been huge trend across all catwalks, ours and our children’s. One of the great things about choosing neon for your children is how happy the colours are. They simply make you smile. This dress is perfect for this trend and for keeping your little princess looking smart all day long. From a selection of Ladybird clothes at Littlewoods, this dress is both affordable and comfortable, which are the two most important things to look for when choosing children’s clothing.
The colours are perfect for this trend, blending neon limes, oranges, pinks and more, so that your little one can really make a statement. With a button fastening back, for comfort and a bow detailing on the front, this will be smart enough fo summer weddings, barbeques and even holidays in 2013.
The Dapper Boys
Let’s not leave the boys out and there are just as many trends to pick from for our little gentlemen this season. Structured tailoring has to be one of the best trends for boys and possibly the cutest! We are talking full 3 piece suits, including waistcoats. The Great Gatsby effect has even reached the realms of childrenswear.
This little number is perfect, nicely tailored to be an exact carbon copy of the grown ups range. Now, don’t worry as this outfit is not just for weddings, this can be worn for both smart occasions and you could then add jeans, a T Shirt and just the waistcoat for a cute holiday look. The best way to work with this styling is to imagine the bigger gentlemens version and downsize it. for example, a flat cap would add some personality to this look, whilst tiny trainer will keep it looking fresh and young.
Potentially the most adorable fashion trend for children this year is retro styling. Cute, fun and quite literally anything goes. When starting to shop for retro inspired children’s clothing, one of the best places to start is with patterns. This can be traditional retro polka dots or even the more unusual patterns, like dinosaurs or even aeroplanes. These baby girls playsuits are perfect examples of how this trend can be super fun and very exciting. The floral playsuit is great for summer time strolls through the park and also for keeping your little one cool.
Team this floral suit with some white booties and a hair bow and you will be smiling all day long. For an occasion, then add in a knitted cardigan and some ballet style booties.
The yellow suit screams holidays. The spots are bang on trend, whilst the colour is light to reflect the midday sun. The elastic neck is comfortable and as it stretches, it offer the chance for this suit to be layered over a top for the chillier months. Team with yellow sock and white booties for a gorgeous summers day.
