Siding Installed to Painted House – Day 91-150!
Today we are going to talk about the progress for two months. Month number 4 was a little slow and not much was done, but there was quite a bit of progress in month five. It’ll be no time before we are in but I’m getting a little anxious.
Day 96 – Siding Installed! The siding has finally been installed and it will be no time before it’s painted. We will most likely have to wait for some warmer weather because it’s not good to paint in the cold. We are going with a grey color although I can’t remember the exact color. The front door was also installed.
Day 97 – Drywall Going In! The house finally starts to take shape once the drywall goes up. It actually starts to look like a house.
Day 101 – Stone Put up! The stone looks a little different from what we chose but I’m glad because this stone has more color. The other probably had too much grey in it and this one has a little brown color in it.
Day 137 – Cupboards Put in! It’s hard trying to pick out cupboards just by looking at a single cupboard door. But we went with white with detail on the doors to match the regular doors and with 2 glass doors like we had at our previous house.
Day 141 – Interior Doors Installed! These doors are also similar to our previous home doors but they have detail on them and will give the house some character.
Day 142 – Shelving Installed! I like that this builder installs shelving in the closets. I have always wanted shelves but they cost too much.
Day 148 – Deck Installed! We have had wooden decks before and despise them. So we went with Trex decking. No maintenance and easy to take care of.
Day 149 – Woodworking done and Beams Installed! When you look at a lot of houses, you get some ideas that you want when you build a house. I love the way that beams looked and wanted them and a cathedral ceiling in my living room. The guys that did the beams also did the woodwork on the fireplace and I think it looks awesome. I can’t wait to see it all finished.
Day 150 – House Painted and Granite Installed! We have finally had some warm weather so they were able to paint the outside. They also installed the granite. We went with a white with grey for the kitchen. A black in the master (that I said I would never get again) and a blackish/grey with a touch of purple in it (although you can’t really tell) for the guest bathrooms.
