Our Summer Travel Plans 2013

Live Blogging All The Way!

Besides being posted on my website, I will also post them to US Family Guide.

There are so many things that I want to do in this lifetime and I guess I have to start somewhere.  Some of things we are going to do this summer.   When I say we, I mean my husband, myself  and the dog.   The bird will be staying at home with a friend.  Once done, I will be able to cross them off my Dream List.  I will be live blogging the whole trip so you will be able to read and see pictures from memorable moments.  You can see one of my previous day trip posts to Long and Scott Farms Corn Maze.

We are starting right here in Florida with the 2nd Anual Sunshine State Camaro Car Rally  being held in Celebration, Fl.  We love car shows and why not enter our 2011 Camaro SS in it.   You can read the Camaro Car Show Post for more information.

Following the Car Show, we added another stop to the Florida Strawberry Festival.  You can read all about the fun we had at the Strawberry Festival.

Moving right along, we will be heading towards our next adventure.

Next we will be visiting some of the Amusement Parks and hope to be able to swim with the Dolphins at Discovery Cove.  My son proposed to his wife while there and one of the dolphins swam the buoy over with the words “Will you marry me” on it.  How romantic is that?  That would make a great Valentines Day gift for your sweetheart.

2. Relax and Have Fun!

SeaWorld is an awesome park and you can never visit too much.  I want my grandchildren to experience the parks when they come to visit.  I think this guy was saying “look at me”!

Also while still in Florida, we are planning on going to the Arabian Nights Dinner Show or Medieval Times.
.    We have never been there before, so I think it will be a really nice experience.  I have heard many great things about both of them.

We just keep adding more to the list of things to do.  How about Universal Studios.  We have lived in Florida for almost 10 years and have only visited there once.  That was right at the beginning.  How fun does that sound?

Next, we will be stopping at Disney World.  My son, his wife and daughter will be coming to visit and Aubrey would love to stop and see Mickey and Minnie.  Can’t wait to see the look on her face.  We might even go to Mickey’s Backyard BBQ.  Went there with my grandson, Cody a couple years ago and had an amazing time.

Our next stop will be the Reviewers Retreat  being held at the Callaway Gardens Pine Mountain Lodge in Pine Mountain, GA.  I am looking forward to this so I can learn more about reviewing.  Reviewer’s Retreat is the first conference geared specifically toward the issues and challenges faced by bloggers in the review genre. Review bloggers or “online influencers” who conduct product and resource reviews on their site will converge to take part in sessions on a variety of topics including brand-blogger relations, website design, perfecting the pitch, statistics, photography and more.  Tickets are still on sale until Feb. 28th if you are interested in going.  Get your Tickets here!

After leaving GA, we are headed over to Kansas for my grandson Cody’s 7th birthday and my granddaughter Aubrey’s 1st birthday.  We would like to make a stop or two on the way, for instance in Branson, Missouri.  I have heard nothing but good things about Branson and would love to stop there even for just a night or two.

While in Kansas we we will leave for 4 days and head over to Steamboat Springs, CO and visit The Porches.

Once we leave Kansas, we will be heading over to Chicago, IL for BlogHer ’13, one of largest conferences around.   I am really excited about going there.  The only Conference I have been to so far has been SheCon ’12 at Disney.

I am still facing the challenge of finding a hotel in Chicago though.  I don’t know the area and I still need to research the hotel situation.  My niece lives in Chicago and I am hoping she can help me locate one.

When we leave Chicago, we will be headed over to Indianapolis, Indiana to head over to the Camaro 5 Fest.  We will probably only be there for a day or two because I would love to go to the World’s Longest Yard Sale which is also held that weekend, and we will be so close.   I have been wanting to do that for the last 8 years, but something was always going on that weekend, from my son’s wedding to my grandson’s birthday celebrations.  Even if we only check out a half day’s worth just to say I was there.  You can only fit so much stuff in a Camaro!

After that we will be heading over to NY to visit my 93 year old mother.  I would love to bring her back to Florida with us, but she was here last winter and said once was enough.  She is set in her ways and it’s hard to convince them otherwise.

On the road once again, heading to Cedar Point in Ohio for the Bloggy Conference.  We have been to Cedar Point many a time.  My aunt and cousins live nearby and my Uncle used to be a security guard there.  But I still have to search for a hotel that takes dogs.  I wouldn’t impose on my relatives, besides we like our privacy.

Once done at the Bloggy Conference, it will be time to head home back to Florida.  It’s always good to be home and sleep in your own bed, even if our bed isn’t the most comfortable!

There’s no place like home!

All I have to say is that I am thankful to have my good friend stay at my house and take care of the grass and bird for me.

Make sure to come back and read all about our travels.  Thanks for stopping by.
