New Year, New You, New Beginnings!
It’s a new year and as much as I would like a new me, there are always options for new beginnings.
Do you ever wish you could do your life over? I know sometimes I think that it would be nice but then there are times I wouldn’t want to. I wouldn’t want to change all my life’s events (some would be nice) because I’m happy with my kids, my grandkids, my husband. It’s mostly the bad things that I’d like to change. The people that were taken away from us way too early, like my sister who was only 51 and my dad who was only 75. My sister’s birthday was yesterday and my dad’s is in two days.
Unfortunately, we can’t start over but we can make choices from now on that will be like starting over. Within the past couple years, I feel like we started over (a couple times!). We sold our house in Florida to head up North to take care of my 96 year old mom. We then built a house this past year in Kansas so I could be near my kids and grandkids. AND, we just sold our house (yes, our brand new built house) and will be heading back to Florida. (In 6 months, after my knee replacement!)
I love my kids and grandkids, but Kansas just isn’t us. It’s way too hot in the summer, 113 and that’s not the “what it feels like” temp. Some will argue that it’s hotter in Florida, but maybe we were used to it or because we had a pool we could jump in anytime we wanted to, but Kansas is HOT! Plus, it’s too cold in the winter, I’ve been freezing this past month no matter how many layers of clothing I had on. They will have to come and visit us in Florida and we will visit them a few times during the year.
After all these “new beginnings” that we’ve had in the past couple years, I’m just thankful that I’m still able to do all these things and enjoy being around my family and thankful for them.
Thank you for reading a story from #BehindTheBlogger Hop. Every 2 weeks a group of bloggers is given a writing prompt. These prompts are very open ended, so our bloggers can write about whatever they desire. The main rule is that their blog post directly relates to the topic of that week. The point of this hop is for our readers to get to know us on a personal level.
Please hop along and read all of the blog posts in this weeks hop. Just click the links below. If you want real and raw emotion, then you will find it here. After you read each post, please comment and share. We want to get to know you too!
