LeapFrog LeapPad Platinum and Imagicards!
When I received the LeapFrog LeapPad Platinum, I was a little concerned that it wasn’t going to be a big hit with my grandkids. Why? Because they all have iPads. Yeah, crazy I know. One, two and three year olds with iPads! They mostly use them for watching movies so after checking out all the things that the LeapPad Platinum could do…I was excited about it.
We let Aubrey do the unboxing of this month’s LeapFrog products and she was definitely excited about it for sure! She is 3 and will starting Pre-K next year and is very smart. And that’s where the LeapPad Platinum comes in. It’s the next generation of learning.
About the LeapFrog LeapPad Platinum:
The LeapPad Platinum features a 7 inch screen and is recommended for children ages 3-9. It has a learning library of more than 1000 games and more featuring Just for Me Learning Technology.
Also on the LeapPad Platinum is a Kid-Safe Web. A Kid-Safe web browser lets kids surf the web and browse age appropriate content which is handpicked by the LeapFrog team of learning experts but also has parental settings for easy fine tuning.
What I like is that it has a shatter-safe screen and a wrap around bumper. You know how rough kids can be with things so it is good to know that it is built for durability and child safety.
The LeapPad Platinum can take pictures and videos of family and friends and has two cameras and video recorders. They can even connect with their friends enabled LeapPads. It also has an attached stylus.
About LeapFrog Imagicards:
The LeapFrog Imagicards are each for a specific age. They are the first of it’s kind in digital and physical learning. We played with the Paw Patrol Imagicards which are meant for ages 3-8. There are 30 curricular cards that the kids will capture a photo of the cards to bring a favorite character into the game and unlock the magical gameplay.
I like that the Imagicards come with it’s own branded tin to store the cards in. We received Paw Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and LeapFrog’s Letter Factory.
The Paw Patrol includes the following:
- Number recognition.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is recommended for ages 5-8 and includes:
- Number Composition.
The Letter Factory is suitable for ages 4-7 and includes:
- Word Sounds.
- Sight Words.
