Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa!
I have never been to the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa so I was looking forward to it. It is located in South Walton. We had to make arrangements to board Harley because they don’t take pets. After asking some friends in the area, we decided on Emerald Coast Kennels which was around 10 miles down the road. We dropped her off for 2 nights (and dropped my iPhone in her water bowl, luckily it still worked) and headed on down the road.
We arrived around 4 PM so we had plenty of time to check the place out. After checking in, we headed to room. The place was gorgeous and spacious.
Our room had two double beds, a couch, 2 bunk beds, two sinks, bathtub, shower, refrigerator, coffee maker and patio with a partial view of the ocean.
We were located on the first floor which was nice because we were close to the restaurant, three swimming pools, beach, two hot tubs, kiddie pool, bar, and just about everything else too.
Hilton Sandestin: The Food!
We were hungry and since we were driving all day, decided to eat the restaurant located on the main level, SandCastles.
We had the Three Cheese Rotisserie Chicken Quesadilla, Sandcastles Burger with french fries, and Oreo Crust Cheesecake for dessert! Everything was delicious.
So delicious as a matter of fact that we went for breakfast the following morning. You can have a buffet breakfast, a continental breakfast or order a la carte if you would like.
However, I recommend the buffet breakfast. It is phenomenal!
There is just about everything you can imagine and even choose your ingredients for a hand made omelet by the chef!
I took a lil’ bit of everything!
I have to say that we were full and didn’t need to eat again until dinnertime. For dinner, I wanted to sit out on the patio by the pool and enjoy the ocean. We ate at Barefoot’s Beachside Bar & Grill.
I ordered a few frozen drinks since we were just hanging around the pool and beach. We had the Patty Melt, Chicken Quesadilla (yes, we love quesadillas), Dreamsicle and Beach Brella.
Other restaurants include the Hadashi Sushi Bar, Seagar’s Prime Steak and Seafood, Picnix Market, The Coffee Shop, Sandcastles Lounge, The Sand Bar and in room dining. I was a little disappointed that the Picnix Market closed at 5 PM because I wanted some ice cream while sitting around in the evening.
Hilton Sandestin is the perfect place to relax & enjoy the ocean air along with good food. Spend the day at the pool, eat by the ocean & watch the sun set.
Hilton Sandestin Amenities:
Some of the other amenities at Hilton Sandestin are:
Serenity by the Sea Spa: Voted the “best spa” for the last nine years by Emerald Coast Magazine and three consecutive years by Destin Magazine. Here you can relax to Tropical scents and soothing sounds of cascading waterfalls. They offer facials, massages and body treatments.
Child Care Services: They offer child care services at Kids Krew for ages 5-12 and a slew of day and night time kids’ programs like Kids Night Out for ages 5-12.
Some of the activities included:
Field Day with giant beach balls and parachute games.
Beach Break with sand sculpting, shell hunting and kite flying.
Rumble in the Jungle with Jungle Bingo and safari scavenger hunt.
Pirate Pandemonium with a pirate parade and nautical games.
Space Invasion where you make alien creations and go on a star search.
Duck Season where you go crab hunting on the beach.
These are just a few of activities that they do with kids and I’m sure the kids love it and it gives parents some time away to play.
Beach Weddings: I would have loved to get married on the beach. We could always renew our vows on the beach for our 25th anniversary in 5 years. 🙂 They actually had a wedding occurring while we were there. They were planning a bonfire on the beach for the wedding rehearsal party complete with tiki torches and s’mores. Beautiful!
Meeting and Event Venues: They can accommodate groups from ten to 2000.
So whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, a family fun vacation, a work adventure or just to relax, Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa is your go to place. I even got up early to see the sunrise on the beach!
I am so glad that I won this Florida vacation and that we were able to use it. Even though we were just there to relax, we had a great time and enjoyed every minute. It went by too quickly.
