Fun 4th of July Food!

Fun 4th of July Food!

Since we celebrate my grandson’s birthday is on the 4th of July and my granddaughter’s birthday is on  the 5th of July, I like to make fun foods to celebrate. It just takes some creativity and surfing on Pinterest.

I made my Pasta Salad recipe and my Taco Salad recipe but displayed as a flag. I used black olives for the star portion, sliced cheese sticks for the white stripes and cherry tomatoes cut in half for the red stripes.

I made Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries. They don’t look really nice in the picture because we transported them and they melted a tad. I sprinkled them with blue sprinkles before we left and should have waited until we got there because they ran a bit. I cheated and used cheesecake pudding in them rather than making actual cheesecake filling. They tasted better than they looked. 🙂

The other 4th of July fun food that I made was the Flag Kebobs. I don’t know why, but I could not find fresh blueberries….anywhere! So, I had to buy frozen and it just wasn’t the same. They were real runny. But you get the idea. I cut my banana slices and soaked them in lemon juice to keep them from turning brown. Cut the tops off the strawberries then place on the kebob sticks alternately.

I would have loved to make more fun 4th of July food but it’s kind of hard to do when you are working out of someone else’s kitchen.

One thing that helps me to relax is doing crafts. Making a DIY 4th of July Pallet Flag wouldn't take me that long. I had some help from hubby & Snapple Tea.

What fun 4th of July food have you made?

Happy 4th of July!
