I was invited to Disneyland to experience Disneyland’s 60th Diamond Anniversary Celebration. All opinions are my own and may differ from yours.
Disneyland 60th Diamond Anniversary Celebration!
Can you believe that Disneyland is having their 60th Diamond Anniversary Celebration already? That means they are only 5 years older than me (giving away my age there!) I had the pleasure of visiting Disneyland when I was 9 years old. My favorite things from that visit was the “It’s A Small World” ride and the “Haunted Mansion”! There has been so much that has been added over the past 60 years. My favorite things now are still those 2 plus the “Cars Land Radiator Springs” ride.
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting Disneyland once again and had a fantastic time. There is so much to tell you, but I’m not sure I can do it in one post.
About Disneyland’s 60th Diamond Anniversary Celebration:
Disneyland has always been the Most Happiest Place on Earth! Whether you are 5, 55 or 105…you are going to smile when you walk through those gates! With their 60th Diamond Anniversary Celebration, Disney has added Three New Nighttime Spectaculars to make it even more magical! Along with dazzling entertainment, decor, food and even Diamond Days Sweepstakes where they give away daily prizes.
We had the pleasure of riding a few of their signature rides including “It’s A Small World” and the “Haunted Mansion!”
Everything is decked out for Halloween and the 60th Diamond Anniversary Celebration and is absolutely gorgeous as always done in Disney style.
We learned some new facts about Disneyland that were presented by two Disneyland Ambassadors, Allie Kawamoto and Jessica Bernard.
As we were walking through the park, we got to see Peter Pan playing Duck Duck Goose with some kids. How often do you see that?
The boat featured in “It’s A Small World” in the movie Tomorrowland was on display and we got to take turns sitting in it. I also had the chance to meet some amazing bloggers on this trip.
We were served lunch in a three tiered diamond made by an award winning Disney Chef. We also had the pleasure of meeting Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Goofy.
In the lunch building, we were able to meet Stacia who was sketching some of the Disney characters that were going to be given out as prizes.
The “Paint The Night” Electrical Parade is all new for the anniversary celebration as is the “Disneyland Forever” spectacular fireworks show presented by Honda.
Paint The Night Parade fun facts:
* The Electrical Parade has more than 1.5 million brilliant LED lights that flash and glow.
* The parade tells eight different stories, each represented by multiple floats, props and performers.
* There are 500 strobes that are a custom lighting product delveoped by Disney.
* It requires more than 200 “universes of control” to operate everything form the video presentations on the floats to the lights on individual costumes.
* The Tinker Bell float is 40 ft. long, with 44 universes of control and more than 850,000 points of light.
Disneyland Forever Fireworks Spectacular:
A street-to-sky experience featuring worlds of timeless Disney tales. Nemo made his appearance as he swam around the Castle as did Tinker Bell.
Disneyland Forever is a new fireworks display that is dazzling and nothing like anything you have seen before. No matter how many times I have seen fireworks, they still amaze me! You will be surrounded by world’s of timeless Disney tales.
Entertainment, Dining and Shopping Add to the Celebration:
There have been more than 500 special merchandise items created for the Diamond Celebration, including apparel, accessories, art, collectibles, headwear, home decor, jewelry, pins, souvenirs, toys and more which can be found at shops throughout the parks.
You will also find new drinks and cupcakes specially created for the celebration. Later this summer drinks will be available in “Made with Magic” merchandise items.
We received a Disneyland 60th Coca Cola bottle and coffee mug!
