Chili’s Fresh Mex Menu Review

Chili’s is one of our favorite restaurants to eat at and now that the Fresh Mex Menu has arrived, it’s on the top of my preferred dining list.

The Chili’s Fresh Mex Menu has many choices on it, including the Fresh Mex Bowls, which consist of the Chipotle Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl and the Margarita Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl.

With all the new choices available, it’s so hard to decide on what to order. We ended up ordering from the create-your-own Southwest Pairings starting at $8.

With the pairings you get to choose 2 or 3 items and is served with rice and black beans.

We ordered the 3 items which included the Chicken Quesadilla’s, the Seasoned Beef Soft Taco’s and the Loaded Baked Potato Soup. Since we had stopped in for a late evening snack, we split it so we didn’t get filled up for the night.

The Loaded Baked Potato Soup was so delicious that I we went back the following day for another round.

The Fresh Mex Bowls are available in two flavors:

• Chipotle Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl which features marinated grilled chicken, house-made corn and black bean salsa, rice and chipotle pesto layered with cheddar cheese, house-made pico de gallo, fresh field greens, chopped cilantro, crispy tortilla strips, fresh sliced avocado and a drizzle of cumin-lime sour cream.
• Margarita Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl which features marinated grilled chicken, house-made corn and black bean salsa, rice and black beans topped with house-made pico de gallo, fresh field greens, chopped cilantro, crispy tortilla strips, fresh sliced avocado and a drizzle of margarita sauce.

The Fresh Mex Dishes available:

• Green Chile Chicken Enchilada – filled with seasoned chicken and Monterey Jack cheese and topped with green chile sauce, melted three-cheese blend, chopped cilantro, house-made corn and black bean salsa.
• Sour Cream Chicken Enchilada – filled with seasoned chicken and Monterey Jack cheese and topped with sour cream sauce, melted three-cheese blend, chopped cilantro, house-made corn and black bean salsa.
• Beef Enchilada – filled with taco seasoned beef, three-cheese blend and onion and topped with ancho sauce, melted three-cheese blend, chopped cilantro, house-made corn and black bean salsa.
• Cheese Enchilada – filled with a three-cheese blend and diced onion and topped with ancho-chile sauce, melted three-cheese blend and chopped cilantro.
• Tostada – Taco seasoned beef or seasoned chicken with fresh shredded lettuce, house-made pico de gallo, three-cheese blend and black beans topped with chopped cilantro, fresh avocado slices and a drizzle of cumin-lime sour cream on a crispy corn tortilla dusted with southwestern spices.
• Crispy Taco – Taco seasoned beef or seasoned chicken, fresh shredded lettuce, three-cheese blend, house-made pico de gallo, chopped cilantro and a fresh avocado slice in a crispy corn tortilla dusted with southwestern spices.

Of course, we had to finish with dessert! Cheesecake with Strawberry Sauce and deliciously creamy. Who doesn’t love cheesecake?

Chili’s Fresh Mex Bowls are served with marinated grilled chicken, but can also be customized to guests’ liking with other proteins such as grilled shrimp or steak. They are available at any time. Chili’s chefs spent several months perfecting the layers of bold flavors to ensure the new Fresh Mex Bowls deliver on guests’ expectations of this popular menu trend. 

Final Thoughts

If you love all things Mexican – then I highly recommend Chili’s whether for a quick snack or a family meal. The portions are great and for the amount you will spend you get a quality meal that is super yummy! While not “authentic” Mexican faire, they did a great job with the flavors and we will definitely be back for more.
