Caramel Apple Smoothie made with Musselman’s Apple Sauce!

 

Even though it doesn’t feel like it here in Florida, it is fall. And once that calendar hits Labor Day, visions of apples and pumpkins are dancing in my head! Oh, sorry wrong season. But anywho, I love everything apple! so when offered to review Musselman’s Apple Sauce, you can bet I said yes!

I have swapped apple sauce for oil in baking recipes before, but this time I was looking for something different to make and was checking out their apple recipes. I came across their Apple Cinnamon Smoothie. It sounded so good but I didn’t have any vanilla yogurt on hand. I searched my refrigerator and freezer and thought to myself…what goes with apples? Caramel, what else! Lo and behold, I had some caramel swirl frozen yogurt.

The good thing about the Caramel Apple Smoothie is that it’s low calorie and is very filling. I like to have it when I get that afternoon craving. Just pop everything into the blender, mix it up, add some fat free whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon and enjoy!

 

There are many uses for Musselman’s Apple Sauce. Swap it out in place of oil in your cakes, cookies, muffins, breads and brownies. It’s less in calories and keeps them moist. You can also freeze it, which is what I should have done before making my smoothie. Either way, it’s a great snack for anytime.

 

Caramel Apple Smoothie with Musselman’s Apple Sauce
Ingredients
  • 6 oz. cup of Musselman’s Big Cup Apple Sauce
  • 6 oz. Mussleman’s Apple Cider
  • 4 oz. Caramel Swirl Frozen Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup crushed ice
  • Fat Free Whipped Topping (optional)
  • Dash of Cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
  1. Place ingredients into blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glass and top with whipped cream and cinnamon.
  2. Made with Musselman’s Unsweetened Apple Sauce = 6 WW PP
  3. Made with Musselman’s Original Apple Sauce = 9 WW PP

 

I made this with Musselman’s Original Apple Sauce and it comes to 9 WW PP, but If you make this with unsweetened Musselman’s Apple Sauce, it will be only 6 Weight Watchers Points Plus.
