I had the pleasure of visiting Becker Farms while attending the TMS Family Travel Conference. Becker Farms is located at 3724 Quaker Rd., Gasport, New York and just minutes away from Niagara Falls, USA. But, Becker Farms wasn’t new to me.
Having lived in Buffalo, New York for 43 years of my life, and raising my 2 sons there, it was a yearly tradition for us. We had visited many times throughout their small lives. And they are now 31 and 35.
At that time, they had a few things, like the hayride, apple picking, petting the animals and small store.
It has grown a lot since that time and offer way more than they did back then.
Once we arrived, we had a short introduction about the farm. It has been in the family for 5 generations and is a 340 acre working farm. They have Vizcarra-Vineyards, which is a part of the Niagara Wine Trail. We also had some hot spiced cider and hot wine.
Next up was a hayride to pick some delicious Western New York apples. That is something I miss living in Florida for the past 10 years. The apples were delicious (not the kind, the taste!). We headed off to pet some animals and have some fun.
We headed to the Tent for the 100 Mile Radius Dinner. Their five course meals provide farm to table dishes paired with our their wines and beer. All food will be made from the farms harvest or produced within 100 mile of their location.
The dinner was fabulous. We had hors d’oeuvres, Harvest Chicken Soup, Feta and Apples on Spring Mix, Bourbon Peach Pork Steaks, Herb Roasted Potatoes, and Delicata Squash with Maple & Bacon. Each course was paired with it’s own wine.
We finished off the night with a bonfire and Cider Donuts and Hot Spiced Cider and Wine. What a better way to end a fabulous weekend.
So, if you live in the area or are visiting the area, it is well worth your time to stop and visit.
