Learning a new language with Babbel!
**Disclosure: I received a free month of Babbel in order to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own and may differ from yours.
When I was young, my parents always talked in Polish when they didn’t want me to know what they were saying (yes, I am Polish). I wanted them to teach me how to speak Polish, but obviously they wouldn’t. I took Polish for a year in high school, but that wasn’t long enough to learn very much.
I can now learn Polish online with Babbel and at my own pace. Babbel has many different languages to choose from including: Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian and more. This is great especially if I were to visit another another country. I would be able to learn basic words.
I had visited Germany in my late teens and I couldn’t even take the bus anywhere because I didn’t even know the basics. No one spoke English, so I had no idea what they were saying.
You start out by choosing your language. You can practice with or without speech recognition. If you choose with, it won’t advance to the next word until you speak it correctly (you can advance by pressing the next button). You will learn a couple words to start with and then move on to spelling and using it in sentences.
Some words have multiple meanings. It will teach you that also.
Then, it will say a word and you have to choose the correct meaning.
At the end, you get a score and collect points.
Babbel is easy to use and understand and you can go at your own pace. They have many plans to choose from including: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year starting at $6.95 per month. Babbel is available for the computer, iPhone and iPad. Connect with Babbel on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
They are offering (2) 1 year memberships to Plum Crazy About Coupons readers. Enter on the Rafflecopter below. Good luck and Happy Holidays.
