ABLE United Anniversary 1 Year!

Can you believe July 1st is a year already since ABLE United was started? And they already have already provided 1,000 Floridians with disabilities with a better way to save. We have told you about ABLE United before. With ABLE United anniversary also comes a savings of their account fees for 1 year until July 1, 2018. ABLE stands for “Achieving a Better Life Experience!” In December 2014, the ABLE Act was enacted into Federal Law thanks to Stephen Beck, Jr.

In order to qualify for ABLE United, your disability must have occurred before the age of 26, you must reside in Florida, receive SSI or SSDI, and have a condition on the List of Compassionate Allowances Conditions. You can get more info and see if you qualify with the Eligibility Wizard.

It’s easy to open an account and it takes less than 15 minutes. There is nothing to upload and if you need help, someone can assist you in opening it. Did you know that it doesn’t impact your government benefits?

The legal guardian, whether it’s a parent or other family family or someone who has financial power of attorney would be the person in charge of it and able to act on behalf of the beneficiary. They would also be the beneficiary if something were to happen. The savings in an ABLE United account can be used for tax free housing, education, health and wellness services. You want to know that your loved one is going to be taken care of when and if something happened to you.
