I don’t like to start playing games on line because if I really like the game, I get absolutely nothing done because I’m playing games.  I came across Rompus Words.  It’s kind of like scrabble but better.

I started playing it and I couldn’t stop.  So if you were wondering why my posting was lite on my blog this week, it’s because I was playing a game, oops I mean reviewing a game.

Rompus Words is available through a Facebook app or if you don’t do Facebook, it’s also available as a website version.  I played the website version.  The best part is it’s FREE!  Yep, you heard me right, FREE!

I thought it was really fun and now I am hooked on it.  It’s not hard to figure out and  you are using your brain which is good.  They call it a crossword style game but I am leaning more toward a scrabble type game.

You can play with your friends for weekly high scores, send your friends help or even work against them ( just playing of course).

Some of the features are:

  • Goals: The goal of the game is to get as high of a score as possible in a limited amount of turns. At the end of each week the scores are tallied up so that you can compare them with your friends! The next week the scores are reset and the competition begins anew.
  • Scoring:
Words are scored by adding up the letter value (in the bottom right corner next to each letter) of every letter of each word formed. There are several different types of letter pieces within the game, some of which reward a higher multiple of points.  Keep an eye out for the mystery bonus square (green with a question mark). It could be your friends trying to help you. It could be your friends out to get you. Or it could just be a random reward.
  • Helpers:
If you get stuck, check out the ‘Helpers’ tab on the left. Here you will find an assortment of ways to shake things up. Most items in the ‘Helpers’ tab cost credits. You are given 5,000 credits when you first start playing Rompus Words. You earn more credits by playing daily and inviting friends to play along with you.

So what have you got to lose by checking it out.  After all, it’s FREE. Oh, did I mention that already?  I just wanted to make sure you knew that.

My rating for Rompus Words is 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
