Because of my Crohn’s Disease, I have a hard time absorbing vitamins and minerals from food so I have to take supplements.  I have noticed over the last year that my hair has thinned out dramatically and my nails split very easily.  I have also been on steroids for many years which does not help my bones plus the fact I have arthritis.

It makes me kind of sad because I used to have such a thick head of hair that my beautician would have to thin it out at least once a month.  My nails too, I could grow them long and they were beautiful without having to get fake nails put on.

Collagen is a complex structural protein that maintains stregnth and flexiblility throughout the body.  Super Collagen+c is made up of the collagen peptides Type 1&3 which support collagen in skin, hair, nails, muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones.    And because I am not getting any younger, My skin needs all the help I can get so I don’t look like an old shriveled up prune.  This also helps the skin because super collagen is essential for strengthening the skin internally and preventing wrinkles and loss of elasticity.

The dosage is 3 tablets twice daily.  They aren’t hard to take because they aren’t that big of a pill.  It will take a while for me to notice any difference in my nails because it generally takes about 3 months for them to grow out.  My hair was coming out in clumps practically every time I brushed my hair.  Since I have been taken them I have definitely noticed a difference. I am no longer filling the drain in the shower with hair and I can tell it feels better when I put it up.

My muscles and joints normally ache so bad when I get out of bed in the morning that I have to sit at the edge of the bed for a few minutes before I can actually start moving.  Since I started taking them I have to say I don’t feel as achy and can get right up and start moving.

Would I recommend them?  Definitely, but you have to remember that different things work differently for every person.  What works for me might not work for you, but you won’t know unless you try.
