#Stencils #Review & #Giveaway (ends 8/26)

I have always loved the way stencils looked but I was always afraid to give it a try.  My husband even had his doubts and said stencils always run.   I really love Palm Trees.  Not only because I live in Florida but I always have even when we lived up north.

I was excited and scared when I got the chance to review some stencils from istencils.com.  They have so many choices that it took 2 days to decide which ones to pick.  There were a couple different Palm Tree ones but I finally chose the Large Palm Tree Stencil.  Then after choosing the style I had to choose which size I wanted.  I was afraid to go too big since I never did a stencil before and I had to decide where I was going to put it.   It came in a tube and rather quickly I might add.

I decided I was going to put it in 2 different spots.  You do know that stencils aren’t just for walls anymore right?  Well, I was going to put it in my master bath on my shower window was the 1st spot and the 2nd spot is going to be on my sliding glass doors leading out to my screen room.  So I chose the 30 X 30 size.  It was rolled up in brown wrapping paper. It’s texture is light plastic.  You can maneuver it very easily.

I also ordered 2 paint colors, a brown for the trunk which is cocoa, and a green for the palm fronds which is avocado and a brush.

When I saw the magnitude of the stencil, I was kind of worried that I wasn’t going to be able to do it.  I taped it up on the glass and put a little piece of tape under each point so that it wouldn’t fall down.

I tried to use the brush that I picked out but it was way too small, so I looked around and compromised.  I had a bag of sponge brushes that I had purchased at the dollar store so I figured I would give them a try.

I put the paint on 2 separate paper plates.  The paint is easily washable with soap and water.  It was time for me to start!  I started with the trunk.

Not bad.  It wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be.  It was actually pretty easy.  Next  I tackled the palm fronds.

I know, you’re probably saying that looks horrible, it’s looks like a big blob.  Wait, it ‘s because you are seeing it all over the stencil. I waited until it was totally dry before I removed it.  And here is the finished product!

What do you think?  I love it and I can’t wait until I do it on my sliding glass door.   The only thing is I wish it would have came with some sort of instructions.  I’m not sure if they just forgot or what.  But I managed.

My rating for the stencils is 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.  You can check out all the different styles they have and also follow them on Facebook and Pinterest.

They have offered one of my lucky readers a $50.00 gift certificate to istencils.com.  All you have to do is enter on the Rafflecopter below.  Good Luck!
